Creating a New Account for the RCAAN Online Course

Those who wish to take the Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (RCAAN) course must first have an account registered with the site. If you do not yet have an account registered, follow the instructions outlined below. You will then be able to sign in and access the course.


Step 1

Visit the login page for the Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (RCAAN) training course. Click on the "New User?" link to create a new account.

Verify that you are now on the correct page for creating an account. Review the screenshot below for reference.

Step 2

Enter your first and last name into the appropriate fields. Then, enter your email address into the appropriate field and check for any typos. Note that no spaces should be inputted when typing your email.


Double check that your email is correct before proceeding.

Step 3

Enter a password of your choosing into the "Password" and "Confirm Password" fields. Note that these fields must match exactly, including any uppercase/lowercase letters, numbers, symbols, and/or spaces.

Step 4

Select an option for "Place of Employment." If you select the "Public school" option or the "Private school" option, additional fields will need to be filled. Do not leave these additional fields blank.

Step 5

The "DOE Number" field is optional. Leave this field blank if you do not have a DOE Number or if you do not have that information.


The "District Personnel/Employee ID Number" field is required. As stated in the instructions on the site, if you do not have a District Personal/Employee ID Number, please enter 111. Do not leave this field blank.

Step 6

Verify your humanity by solving the given math problem. Then, after reviewing your information, click the "Create Account" button to register.

If all information has been filled out correctly, you will be redirected to the login page for the course. Use the email address and password associated with your newly created account to sign in.


If you are not redirected away from the account creation page, this more than likely means that one or more sections have not been filled out correctly. Please review this article and ensure that you have followed every step properly.
